Central Tools Inc. is the leading manufacturer of precision measuring
tools and handheld fluorescent work
lights marketed for the automotive repair industry. Central
Tools employs people in its Cranston, RI facility dedicated to supplying
the highest quality products at reasonable prices. Our ultimate
goal is to satisfy the customer in every way possible and strive
for that goal every day.
Company History:
Central Tools' history began in 1908 as a factory making machinery to form gold dental caps. The founder of the company then invented a unique digital micrometer with the first patents issued in 1912. This began the company's transformation to a precision measuring tool manufacturer.
Early customers were industrial based and this lead to Central being granted contracts as a wartime manufacturer. In fact, some of the wartime certified manufacturing equipment still exists in the plant to this day.
During the 1960's, Central began long standing relationships with popular automotive tool mobile jobber companies and also added many automotive tool and equipment distributors to it's customer list. This completed another transformation, from an industrial based supplier to a manufacturer that focused on the automotive repair industry. In the 1990's, this focus grew even stronger with the addition of a line of hand held fluorescent work lights. This line of lights is designed to be the most durable and rugged line of it's type available and has rapidly become the work light of choice for the most discerning automotive technicians and shop owners.
To this day, Central continues its commitment to quality and customer satisfaction, as a family owned company. Honesty and integrity are key words used throughout the entire organization. The end result is a product and a company you can trust.
